ISU World Figure Skating Championships will be officially openned tomorrow in Milan (Italy). As we all know this is one of the fashion capitals of the world, so the championships starts with style. The Kiss&Cry area is probably the most impressive ever. It represent one of the symbols of the city – Il Duomo.
Italy hosts the Worlds for the fourth time in history and Milan for second. In 1951 the championship was held in Milan, and for the first time since the Second World War, players from Germany and Japan were eligible to participate. The titles were for Dick Button (USA), Jeannette Altwegg (UK) and Ria Baran/Paul Falk (West Germany).
Turin organized the World Cup in 2010.
