Boryana Kaleyn, Stiliana Nikolova (Bulgaria), Sofia Raffaeli and Milena Baldassari (Italy) are the headliners of this year’s Sofia World Cup, which will take place between the 8th and 10th of April in Arena Armeets. After the suspension of Russian and Belarusian gymnasts, and the likely future withdrawal of Ukrainians Viktoria Onopriienko and Polina Karika, these 4 will be the ones in the running for the medals. Other participants include Sol Martinez from Argentina, Zohra Aghamirova from Azerbaijan, Alba Bautista from Spain, Helene Karbanov and Lilly Ramonatxo from France, Evelin Kocsis from Hungary, Margarita Kolosov from Germany, and Bulgarian competing for the Republic of South Africa Stephanie Dimitrova, . Surprisingly, we also see Laura Zeng’s name in the list, although she has long announced her retirement.
Among the registered groups are, of course, hosts Bulgaria with a new addition to the team – Sofia Ivanova, the Olympic bronze winning team of Italy, as well as Azerbaijan, Japan, France, Spain, USA and for now, the team of Ukraine.
