Bulgarian tennis player Tsvetana Pironkova will not compete in the upcoming season. The reason is that our charming athlete and her husband, Mihail, will become parents next year, a source from Plovdiv reported, quoted by tennis24.bg.
Pironkova has not played in an official match since July 6 this year, when she lost to Caroline Wozniacki 3;6, 4:6 at Wimbledon. In September, the 30-year-old Bulgarian announced the end of her season. She is not listed for Australian Open in January.
Recently, Tsvetana released her picture in Instagram, which raised the rumors about her pregnancy. It’s not clear whether Pironkova is planning a comeback after, like a number of tennis players, including Serena Williams and Victoria Azarenka. Currently she is 169th in the rankings.
